Preheat the oven to 80°C for the Zipfelmützen. Beat the egg whites with the salt until stiff, gradually adding the sugar and vanilla sugar. Finally, sift the cornflour over the egg whites and fold in quickly.

For the striping technique, draw sloppy stripes with food coloring on the inside of a disposable piping bag at about 2cm intervals. Pour the meringue mixture into the prepared piping bag, cut off the tip to create a 1cm opening. Then pipe the tips onto the baking paper.

Reduce the temperature to 70°C and let the caps dry overnight. Leave the oven door ajar so that the moisture can escape.

Assemble two jelly beanies at a time.
