Instructions:

A simple but delicious cake recipe:

Knead all the ingredients for the dough in a baking bowl until smooth.

Let rest in the icebox with the lid closed for 60 min.

Roll out dough on a floured surface to 2 mm thickness. Use it to line a greased 260 mm dia. cake springform pan, raising a 2 cm rim of dough. Prick the pastry base with a fork. Spread the sponge crumbs on the bottom. Rinse the apples, remove the skin, pierce the core and cut the apples into quarters. Place them close together on the pastry base. Mix all ingredients for the crem. Bring the cream to a boil, stirring throughout. Bring to a boil. Let cool for 10 minutes.

Pour over apples. Place the pan in the heated oven on the lower rack.

Bake for 45 minutes at 190 degrees Celsius (gas 2-3). Cool the cake in the pan. Then cut into 16 pieces.
