Pour all ingredients into a high saucepan.
Simmer the mixture for about 1 1/2-2 hours (be careful, it boils over easily!) until it has thickened nicely.
Preparation Tip:
Caution, raw elder is poisonous and can cause stomach pain or nausea! To shorten the cooking time, the Hollerröster can also be bound with a mixture of a little red wine and 1 tablespoon cornstarch.
