For the chocolate muffins, prepare a muffin tray and place a baking paper cup in each well. Place a baking rack in the middle of the oven and preheat the oven to 180 °C.

Prepare ingredients and weigh them. Combine flour, cocoa and baking powder and sift through a fine mesh sieve. Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt, sugar and vanilla sugar in a mixing bowl.

Add oil, milk and eggs. Mix briefly and well with an electric hand mixer or food processor. Lastly, briefly fold chocolate cubes into the batter.

Divide the batter into individual muffin tins using 2 tablespoons (fill the tins only 2/3 full). Bake the chocolate muffins for about 30 minutes. Test the muffins with chopsticks.

Afterwards, let the chocolate muffins cool a bit and transfer them to a wire rack. Carefully remove the cooled muffins from the paper cups and sprinkle with powdered sugar to taste.

To prepare the chocolate muffins, all ingredients should be at room temperature. Decorate as desired, possibly make stripes with chocolate icing or coat completely.
