Cut open the sardines on the belly side and remove the innards. Rinse with cold water and carefully pat dry.

For the marinade, pluck the parsley leaves from the stems, peel and finely chop the garlic cloves. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Add the fish and let marinate for about 1 hour.

Remove the sardines from the marinade and dust lightly with flour. Grill on the grill grate for about 3 minutes on each side. Serve the grilled sardines with lemon slices and fresh white bread.
